The complete training programme for the lightning protection standard BSEN 62305 ‘Protection against Lightning’ including the combination of how all the sections work together, detailing that of lightning protection risk assessment to determine the level of protection required for a structure, going through the various options available to provide the structure with a suitable lightning protection system both structurally & internally to fully meet with the standard & provide the protection required, and the documentation trail to ensure that maintenance, testing & inspection is all carried out in strict accordance with the standard.

The BSEN 62305 Foundation course comes in 5No Modules, and in each module, there are a series of training units to match that of the BSEN 62305 standard (Sections 1 to 4):

  1. BSEN 62305/1 2011 – General Principles
  2. BSEN 62305/2 2012 – Risk Management
  3. BSEN 62305/3 2011 – Physical damage to structures and life hazard.
  4. BSEN 62305/4 2011 – Electrical and electronic systems within structures
  5. Documentation & Support Admin

The BSEN 62305 Foundation Certificate is issued on the successful completion of the training course

Duration

Initial online training programme (2/3 hours) in preparation for the one-day classroom program

One-day classroom-based training including a multiple-choice final exam, and on successful completion, access provided to the Millbrook First Academy Membership for two years providing unlimited access 24/7 so you can come back to review, reassess, check or even show a client any or all training units & modules at your leisure.

  • If available, a copy of your BSEN 62305-2012 and /or The Furse ‘A Guide to BS EN 62305 Protection Against Lightning’ but click on the following and upload their Guide top EN/IEC 62305 ‘Introduction.’
  • You will also need basics as follows – Red pen, drawing compass, protractor & scale ruler.
  • Photographic ID (Passport/Driving Licence/CSCS Card)

  • For 28 days or less before the course start date, no refund/credit will be given. Please see the substitute attendees’ section below.
  • For 28 days or more before the course start date, a credit will be offered to be used on an alternative course date for the same training course.
